Hawaiian Print Fleece Blanket

Our Hawaiian Print Fleece Blanket is the easiest and fastest project to date our web site has offered. It will be a welcome gift for any home when the temperature starts to drop. Even Hawaii has cold spots and believe it or not we had a low of 48 degrees on Nov. 11th along the slopes of Mauna Loa! Fleece is incredibly soft and flexible, great for both children and adults. Make one for your family and several for gifts and I guarantee your efforts will be appreciated. Please email any questions you may have to: lani@gotfabric.com.

Have a warm and wonderful holiday season!
Aloha, Lani

Finished Project

Approximately 59" X 59" square

Materials Needed

Cutting

  1. Carefully trim/remove selvage edge.
  2. Fold fleece in half once and then in quarters. Line up edges and trim if necessary. Unfold blanket and it is ready to go! Fleece will not fray so it is NOT necessary it finish the edges. But if you want something a little fancier you can try a few options below.

Optional

  1. Using a round template, such as a dinner plate or bowl, draw a curved line on each of the four corners and cut along curved line.
  2. If your sewing machine has a blanket stitch you can finish the edge of the blanket using a matching or contrast thread. If not, you can use yarn or pearl cotton and stitch this finish by hand.
  3. Add a personalized label with your name on it when giving the blanket as a gift.
  4. Trim/stitch the edges with purchased blanket binding. Be sure to buy enough yardage and stitch the binding pieces together BEFORE attaching it to the blanket so your stitching will continue without interruption. EX: multiply 59" X 4 = 236" OR 6 yds 20"
